A high quality contemporary approach was taken to forming a house extension to a Listed Building in a Conservation Area. A green Oak Framed room gives the house a kitchen/dining room which opens in to their walled garden. The large areas of glazing are a response to the southerly facing enclosed garden. The oak cladding and oak frame are deliberate contrast to the stone built house and its small rooms with small windows, whilst the natural Scot’s slate roofing help to unite the two parts of the house.
Winner of Forestry Commission Award for the Best Use of Timber DIA Awards 2013. Oak frame from Timber Design, Kirriemuir.
